Lead single “Maria Dolores” and “Malaguena Salerosa” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Nana Mouskouri was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Nana Mouskouri and Nuestras Canciones (CD 2) together. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Nana Mouskouri’s album Nuestras Canciones (CD 2) falls to No. 2 with 880,000, a sales slide of 77%. IF you love Nana Mouskouri, ‘Nuestras Canciones (CD 2)’ Mp3’s is the best!
Malaguena Salerosa is the more seemingly obscure song on Nuestras Canciones (CD 2) that bear up best to repeated listening. Album opener Amapola is a bright, upbeat ditty. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Nuestras Canciones (CD 2) is De Colores. En Recuerdo De Ti is almost impossible to review. Bamba is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. It’s such an underrated song. Cielito Lindo Como Te Quiero great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.The sound in Juguete De Amor is really warm and Nana Mouskouri’s signature voice is still very much present. Guantanamera stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. I can’t stop playing Volver, Volver. Vaya Con Dios had me crying as I was able to relate so well.
