Jim Jones has compared writing for Pain of Salvation’s new album to that on ‘Entropia’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Entropia carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Pain of Salvation. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Pain of Salvation ever.
Welcome to Entropia defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Winning a War is the more seemingly obscure song on Entropia that bear up best to repeated listening. I’ve found myself listening to People Passing by back to back and back many times. Strong, powerful vocals of Pain of Salvation in Oblivion Ocean are very impressive. Stress is pretty funky and mellow. Revival has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Entropia. No Pain of Salvation song has come close to capturing my attention as To the End did. I listened to the opening track Never Learn to Fly and liked it a lot. Circles is simple, dignified and effective, Pain of Salvation refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Nightmist rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. In Plains of Dawn Pain of Salvation is at his best. Leaving Entropia (Epilogue) still maintains something of a specific flourish.
