This -song debut EP shows the promise that Masada has. Since completing 1999’s ‘ziphim’, Masada fulfilled their contract with Columbia Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Live In Taipei isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Exciting stuff.
racheb is a marvelous song and it grows on you. midbar I just LOVE this mix! evel - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. hafla-ah is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. The first time I listened to hadasha I was struck by its exquisite sound. From the moment you listen to lachish you’re hooked. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. This song may be the most meaningful. So much energy, so exciting a sound.debir is one of the best records ever. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Masada must have run out of lyrics on the next track yoreh. After few listenings I started to like shilhim more and more. Simple and heartfelt closing track idalah-aba closes Live In Taipei on a high note. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. shebuah as a highlight of Live In Taipei contains a ton of gorgeous melodies. It’s such an underrated song. I like the agression and power of gevurah.
