While no new George Duke album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1992 tour in South America. Snapshot isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by George Duke. Snapshot touched my soul like nothing else.
Snapshot hits the heart. No Rhyme, No Reason is a good listen every once in a while. This track is full of harmonies and gets Snapshot off to a relaxing start. As always, George Duke’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. I think Fame is the best song George Duke has ever done. Voice of George Duke in Geneva is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Snapshot. Keeping Love Alive great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Until Sunrise catches attention immediately, The opening track Bus Tours is very much like you would expect from other albums. Some call In The Meantime (interlude) from Snapshot as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. After you’ve listened to The Morning After, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate.
