Skyclad’s debut, ‘A Burnt Offering For The Bone Idol’, does not fit easily into one genre. ‘A Burnt Offering For The Bone Idol’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. This twelve-song debut EP shows the promise that Skyclad has. Smart music for smart people.
A Broken Promised Land marked the continuation of Skyclad in style evolution. Spinning Jenny is the first taste of the new album. Salt On The Earth (Another Man’s Poison) is a marvelous, simple song by Skyclad at the top of his game. (The Suffering Silence) is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. One listen to the sheer beauty of Karmageddon was all I needed. Ring Stone Round - My least favorite song on this album. Men Of Straul is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. From the moment you listen to The Declaration Of Indifference you’re hooked. The first time I listened to Alone In Death’s Shadow I was struck by its exquisite sound.
