‘Leaning into the night’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. There is no doubt that Ottmar Liebert has talent. Leaning into the night carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Unappreciated gift to Latin: Flamenco
Buleria de las golondrinas is a striking and quite long song. Don’t judge Prelude No. 3 on the first listening. Yasmeen sets the tone for the entire album. Adagio assai is one of the best records ever. The Winding Road is another favourite of mine. The Call have really caught my ear and imagination. Premiere Gymnopedie is a strong cut, one of many. Morning Arrival in Goa (6:20) a good melody. Once Pavane gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. Bombay is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Still going through Leaning into the night and coming to appreciate “O Mio Babbino Caro” more and more with every listen.
