It’s natural for Rollins Band to take a stab at ‘Disconnect’ considering her long-professed love for 2 Unlimited. Weight carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. After seeing Disconnect, I had to have a good Rollins Band cd. I wish that “Weight” album was instrumental.
Within the first few notes of Fool it’s perfectly clear that Rollins Band is living this song. Album opener Icon is a bright, upbeat ditty. You have to get essence of the Civilized’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Divine - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Still going through Weight and coming to appreciate Liar more and more with every listen. Step Back is the gorgeous blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Wrong Man - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. This track is clearly meant to showcase Rollins Band’s vocal abilities. Tired is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Alien Blueprint is perfect. After few listenings I started to like Shine more and more.
