This is the first studio album from New Model Army since bad diagnosis in 1992. I am not a real Alternative music type of person, but i have to admit ‘History: The Best Of’ really is amazing. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of New Model Army energies, virtually a rebirth. If you want to hear real Alternative, get this record now!
Better Than Them is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. I like the agression and power of Brave New World. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Voice of New Model Army in Poison Street is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. I now have White Coats as one of my personal favorites. The sound of Stupid Questions is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Vagabonds has a fun tempo. Green and Grey is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Get Me Out is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Purity is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Far Better Thing is astounding. Opening track Higher Wall shows the best of New Model Army.
