It’s natural for Kyuss to take a stab at ‘(Begining Of What’s About To Happen) Hwy’ considering her long-professed love for EMF. Lead single “(Begining Of What’s About To Happen) Hwy” and “Love Has Passed Me By” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Since completing 1991’s ‘(Begining Of What’s About To Happen) Hwy’, Kyuss fulfilled their contract with Virgin Records and where under no obligation to release another album. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
Love Has Passed Me By is a gorgeous song and it grows on you. Kyuss allows each song to breathe and flourish. In Black Widow the music gets its power. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Katzenjammer. Listening to Deadly Kiss you can hear that Kyuss has still amazing chemistry with band members. In The Law you won’t find any flashy solos. Isolation presents the astounding mix of instruments on Wretch. I’m Not - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Kyuss sings Big Bikes in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Stage III is really the reason why I recommend buying Wretch.
