There is so much to love about Sopor Aeternus, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Since Sopor Aeternus last CD (Ich Tote Mich) on EMI Records back in 1994, I have felt a massive void in my life. I am not a real Gothic music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Ich Tote Mich’ really is amazing. This is one of Sopor Aeternus best albums
Falling Into Different Flesh is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Birth - Fiendisch Figuration is a very catchy tune. Tanz Der Grausamkeit has a fun tempo. Im Garten Des Nichts is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Sopor Aeternus sings Time Stands Still in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. All of songs on Ich Tote Mich and have something to say letting alone Do You Know My Name. Penance and Pain is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. After about the third Holy Water Moonlight listen through, I began to believe this song is Sopor Aeternus’s essence. Vocals of Sopor Aeternus in Beautiful Thorn really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. The Feast Of Blood (2:36) a good melody. Dark Delight is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Birth - Fiendisch Figuration is outstanding work of Sopor Aeternus.
