Portraits isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. It has been fifteen years Tri Yann’ last studio CD, “Portraits” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. This is one of the best Cd’s Tri Yann has dropped to date. Portraits is not something you should pass up.
A unique and uplifting song. The first time I listened to Goulven Sala I was struck by its perfect sound. I like Gerry Adams because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Although Madeleine Bernard is very melodic it is far from sad. I loved Marie-Camille Lehuede the first time I heard it. Brian Boru is a song to enjoy for years to come. |titile| is a sure sign of something most of us are experiencing, maturity. Proc - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Alo is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Anne de Bretagne presents the marvelous mix of instruments on Portraits. Adieu is a bit of a show-tune. Bagne is one of my favorite songs by Tri Yann. Dvrance is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Tri Yann sings Seznec Est Innocent! in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved.
