It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Sopor Aeternus energies, virtually a rebirth. There is so much to love about Sopor Aeternus, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. While no new Sopor Aeternus album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1997 tour in Europe. Sylla’boreal and Question(S) Beyond Terms is really good.
Question(S) Beyond Terms is the album’s biggest hit, I think. When listening to C’ayllagher A Dom’bhrail, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. To A Loyal Friend is the astounding blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Never Trust The Obvious is a exquisite sing-along. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Inexperienced Spiral Traveller. All of songs on Inexperienced Spiral Traveller and have something to say letting alone Memalon. In Memories Are Haunted Places full palet of sound is used by Sopor Aeternus to accentuate the presentation. Die Widersnenstigkeit Unerwuns is the albums biggest surprise. Sopor Aeternus has astounded me with this amazing track. I like the agression and power of Totenlicht. Ein Freundliches Wort… is probably the most interesting track on Inexperienced Spiral Traveller. In Die Toten Kehren Wieder Mit the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. May I Kiss Your Wounds (5:48) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! Sopor Aeternus has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving.
