Lead single “Guerre, guerre, vente, vent” and “Si mort a mors” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. While no new Tri Yann album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1981 tour in Africa. After seeing Guerre, guerre, vente, vent, I had to have a good Tri Yann cd. This album is a scorcher!
It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Suite ecossaise: Oliver Jack-Willafjord - Drumdelgie - Elslie Marly - Shane’s Fancy without a doubt is the standout song of Le Soleil Est Vert. Put Au jardin de mon pere, les lilas sont fanes into car stereo for your highway driving Grand bal de kermaria-an-isquit: Ballade - Psaume - Danse has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Tri Yann’s strong vocals come to the fore. Although An heol a zo glaz: Lug - Kan ar kann - Dans koz - Kan a heol - Dans nevez is very melodic it is far from sad.
