For older fans Inventaire 1970-1993 will put a massive smile accross your face. This -song debut EP shows the promise that Tri Yann has. Self-described as Celtic with lots of words, Tri Yann comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. I Love Inventaire 1970-1993 from start to finish!
Si mort a mors is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. La decouverte ou l’ignorance presents the perfect mix of instruments on Inventaire 1970-1993. In Derobee de Guingamp you won’t find any flashy solos. Strong, powerful vocals of Tri Yann in Galvadeg en tri kant mil soudard are very impressive. Princes qu’en mains tenez has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Pelot d’Hennebont one is one of the better boring ones. Cad e sin don te sin catches attention immediately, One listen to the sheer beauty of Les filles de Redon was all I needed. Les prisons de Nantes defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Gwerz jorj Courtois is worth the money. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Le reel de Louis Marie, which shows, blatantly, how much Tri Yann has evolved as a singer. La jument de Michao make listening to Tri Yann like being in some sort of time warp. Song for ye, Jacobites is a great opener for Inventaire 1970-1993. Musically Chanson a boire is superior to other tracks in Inventaire 1970-1993. Nice and different song. Kan an kann is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Tri Yann released so far. Guerre, guerre, vente, vent gets you up and jumping. An distro euz a vro-zaoz have really caught my ear and imagination. Kerfank 1870 is a exquisite, simple song by Tri Yann at the top of his game.
