There is so much to love about Soul Coughing, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Soul Coughing was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Soul Coughing and Ruby Vroom together. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Soul Coughing. Ruby Vroom is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
Sugar Free Jazz - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Casiotone Nation is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Ruby Vroom couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Blueeyed Devil. Bus To Beelzebub is another strong production from Soul Coughing. In True Dreams Of Wichita full palet of sound is used by Soul Coughing to accentuate the presentation. After you’ve listened to Screenwriter’s Blues, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Moon Sammy is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Album opener Supra Genius is a bright, upbeat ditty. City Of Motors - I like this one. Musically Uh, Zoom Zip is superior to other tracks in Ruby Vroom. Down To This gets you up and jumping. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. The sound in Janine is really warm and Soul Coughing’s signature voice is still very much present.
