Lead single “Bridgette” and “Spinal Column” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. There is so much to love about Stereolab, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Spacy Double Spiral carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. I Love Spacy Double Spiral from start to finish!
Spinal Column - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. This song is dynamic and dramatic. Tomorrow Is Already Here is the cool blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Music and lyrics of Unknown creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. If you are a Stereolab fan, you will love Les Yper-Sound. Les Yper Yper Sound great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Speedy Car, which shows, blatantly, how much Stereolab has evolved as a singer. The sound in Bonnie & Clyde w/ Luna is really warm and Stereolab’s signature voice is still very much present.
