It’s natural for Linton Kwesi Johnson to take a stab at ‘Five Nights of Bleeding’ considering her long-professed love for Led Zeppelin. Now signed to Linton Kwesi Johnson’s Columbia Records, the title track from second album “In Concert with the Dub Band” leads Linton Kwesi Johnson’s back-to-school campaign. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Linton Kwesi Johnson energies, virtually a rebirth. If I may, I suggest “Five Nights of Bleeding”. That one song is amazing!
Music of Dread Beat An Blood is gentle, never overbearing. Intro is the albums biggest surprise. All Wi Doin Is Defendin is just simply stunning. I have all of Linton Kwesi Johnson’s tracks and It Dread Inna Inglan is probably the most his introspective effort. Vocals of Linton Kwesi Johnson in Man Free really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Want Fi Goh Rave - My least favorite song on this album. It Noh Funny is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Forces Of Victory is a very catchy tune. Charming song, great melody. Reggae Fi Peach - I like this one. Di Black Petty Booshwah is a strong cut, one of many. New Craas Massahkah is a marvelous song and it grows on you. Reality Poem is one of my favorite songs by Linton Kwesi Johnson. Wat About Di Workin Claas sets the tone for the entire album. Di Great Insohreckshan gets you up and jumping. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect.
