I am not a real Easy Listening music type of person, but i have to admit ‘End of the World-Nice Girls Don’t Stay for Breakfast’ really is amazing. five years ago, Julie London briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “I Wanna Be Around”. This is one of the best Cd’s Julie London has dropped to date. End of the World-Nice Girls Don’t Stay for Breakfast is the best essence of Julie London.
I Wanna Be Around is really the reason why I recommend buying End of the World-Nice Girls Don’t Stay for Breakfast. The sound in Call Me Irresponsible is really warm and Julie London’s signature voice is still very much present. Our Day Will Come is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. I Left My Heart In San Francisco - A catchy, upbeat tune. Fly Me To The Moon still maintains something of a specific flourish. Days Of Wine And Roses is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. I Remember You is one of the best records ever. My Colouring Book is one of the coolest songs Julie London has ever recorded. Chances Are is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Julie London ever produced. Slightly Out Of Tune (Desafinado) is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Good Life. This song stands out greatly from the others. The sound of When I Grow Too Old To Dream is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. I love the melodic melody of I’ve Got A Crush On You and to this day it makes me feel good. A great put together song. You Made Me Love You is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Baby Won’t You Please Come Home presents the amazing mix of instruments on End of the World-Nice Girls Don’t Stay for Breakfast. I find myself hearing bits of I Didn’t Know What Time It Was here and there throughout my waking hours. Give A Little Whistle is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. In I Surrender Dear the music gets its power. I like the idea behind You Go To My Head. In There Will Never Be Another You full palet of sound is used by Julie London to accentuate the presentation. In Mickey Mouse March Julie London is at his best.
