Lonesome Road - arguably the best track on Julie…At Home-Around Midnight album. As always, Julie London’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Julie London is hitting on all cylinders in By Myself. The Thrill Is Gone has a fun tempo. You’ve Changed is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Goodbye is absolutely incredible. Vocals of Julie London in Sentimental Journey really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Julie London has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. I can’t stop humming along Let There Be Love. Everything Happens To Me is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Some of the arrangements found on Julie…At Home-Around Midnight are surprisingly edgy. Lonely In Paris is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Misty - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Black Coffee has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Julie London’s strong vocals come to the fore. Lush Life is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. In In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. The opening track Don’t Smoke In Bed is very much like you would expect from other albums. You And The Night And The Music is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Something Cool defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. A great put together song. Julie London sings But Not For Me in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. The Party’s Over the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe.
