Burning Spear was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Burning Spear and Burning Spear together. While no new Burning Spear album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1999 tour in Europe. Self-described as Reggae with lots of words, Burning Spear comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Burning Spear.
Strong, powerful vocals of Burning Spear in We Are Free are very impressive. Fire Down Below is almost impossible to review. Burning Spear has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Don’t Mess With Jill - My least favorite song on this album. Down by the Riverside is outstanding work of Burning Spear. Door Peep Shall Not Enter can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Burning Spear is all about. You have to get essence of the Pick Up the Pieces’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Get Ready is probably the most interesting track on Burning Spear. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Burning Spear is Journey. I can’t stop playing Them a Come. He Prayed is one of my favorite songs by Burning Spear.
