While no new Melvins album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1997 tour in Australia. There is so much to love about Melvins, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Melvins on ‘They All Must Be Slaughtered’. Honky is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
Mombius Hibachi is a bit of a show-tune. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Honky is Lovely Butterfly. Get Honky and turn on Pitfalls In Serving Warrants if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Air Breather Deep In The Arms Of Morphius - another great track from the Honky album. Laughing With Lucifer At Satan’s Sideshow has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. This track is full of harmonies and gets Honky off to a relaxing start. Harry Lauders Walking Stick Tree is a perfect, simple song by Melvins at the top of his game. Don’t judge Grin on the first listening. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly.
