While no new Jordan Rudess album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1999 tour in Asia. Since completing 1999’s ‘Don’t Look Down’, Jordan Rudess fulfilled their contract with Sparrow Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Since Jordan Rudess last CD (Rudess/Morgenstein Project) on Sparrow Records back in 1999, I have felt a massive void in my life. Don’t Look Down and Sloth is really good.
Sloth is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Drop the Puck - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Crossing Over the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Never Again is one of my favorite songs by Jordan Rudess. Tailspin one is one of the better boring ones. In Odd Man Out the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Masada is almost impossible to review. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Cartoon Parade. Over the Edge (6:18) a good melody.
