B.B.King’s debut, ‘Live at St.Quentin’, does not fit easily into one genre. Live at St.Quentin is an amazing album, racked with beauty. On the Russia charts, superstar B.B.King’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
Sweet Sixteen is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Music and lyrics of Nobody Loves Me But My Mother creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Peace To The World is one of the coolest songs B.B.King has ever recorded. The Thrill Is Gone can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what B.B.King is all about. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Into The Night has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Never Make A Move Too Soon is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Sweet Little Angel is another favourite of mine. B.B.King must have run out of lyrics on the next track Whole Lotta Loving. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. B.B. King Intro make listening to B.B.King like being in some sort of time warp. Let The Good Times Roll has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets B.B.King’s strong vocals come to the fore.
