Since completing 1999’s ‘Ain’t Nobody Here But Us Chickens’, B.B.King fulfilled their contract with ForeFront Records and where under no obligation to release another album. There were many famous songs of B.B.King available. Let The Good Times Roll isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. To me B.B.King is the best band ever.
Ain’t That Just Lke A Woman is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Beware, Brother, Beware is a great opener for Let The Good Times Roll. The first time I listened to Buzz Me I was struck by its astounding sound. So much energy, so exciting a sound. Some call Cho Choo Ch’Boogie from Let The Good Times Roll as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Early In The Mornin’ rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. I’m Gonna Move To The Outskirts Of Town is excellent and different song. I loved Is You Is, Or Is You Ain’t (My Baby) the first time I heard it. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Jack, You’re Dead is the excellent blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Some of the arrangements found on Let The Good Times Roll are surprisingly edgy. I can’t stop playing Nobody Knows You When You’re Down and Out. Voice of B.B.King in Rusty Dusty Blues (Mama Mama Blues) is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Saturday Night Fish Fry - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Sure Had A Wonderful Time Last Night is new, fresh, and hypnotizing.
