Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of B.B.King on ‘Playin’ With My Friends’. It has been twelve years B.B.King’ last studio CD, “Blues Summit” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. After debuting at No. 1 last week, B.B.King’s album Blues Summit falls to No. 2 with 114,000, a sales slide of 68%. Blues Summit constantly brilliant.
Since I Met You Baby is probably the most interesting track on Blues Summit. I Pity The Fool is such a cool and optimistic song that things can get just better. You Shook Me to me is the best you can get from B.B.King. Something You Got is another strong production from B.B.King. Although There’s Something On Your Mind is very melodic it is far from sad. Charming song, great melody. Music in Call It Stormy Monday is marvelous as in all tracks of Blues Summit. You’re The Boss is probably the highlight of the album. We’re Gonna Make It - Check out that bassline! In Her (I Gotta Move Out Of This…) full palet of sound is used by B.B.King to accentuate the presentation. Everybody’s Had The Blues which is my favorite is a truly B.B.King sounding song.
