Since B.B.King last CD (Great Moments With B.B.King) on Savoy Records back in 1981, I have felt a massive void in my life. It has been seven years B.B.King’ last studio CD, “Great Moments With B.B.King” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Lead single “Waitin On You” and “Gambler’s Blues” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
Gambler’s Blues motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. Tired Of Your Jive is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Night Life is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Great Moments With B.B.King have ended. B.B.King sings Buzz Me in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Blind Love is outstanding work of B.B.King. Baby Get Lost the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Gonna Keep On Loving You is simply perfect. I Know What You’re Puttin’ Dow one of the best in my collection. Heartbreaker is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Dance With Me - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. That’s Wrong Little Mama is worth the money. See See Rider’ is the excellent blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Wee Baby Blues’ has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets B.B.King’s strong vocals come to the fore. Still going through Great Moments With B.B.King and coming to appreciate I’d Rather Drink Muddy Waters more and more with every listen. I’m Gonna Move To The Outskirt (2:29) - awsome. Such hits like How Long, How Long Blues will leave you hooked. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Cherry Red because the melody in the chorus is so good.
