Since completing 1987’s ‘Ancient Wind’, Keiko Matsui fulfilled their contract with Capitol Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Since Keiko Matsui last CD (A Drop Of Water) on Capitol Records back in 1987, I have felt a massive void in my life. A Drop Of Water isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Great Jazz: Contemporary Jazz right here!
Light Above The Trees one is one of the better boring ones. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Mediterranean Sand is possibly the best song Keiko Matsui has come up. When I listen to A Drop Of Water in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. From My Window is the first taste of the new album. In Only Way Home you won’t find any flashy solos. Fairy is worth the money. Paper Spirit rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo.
