Lillian Axe’s debut, ‘Poetic Justice’, does not fit easily into one genre. It’s natural for Lillian Axe to take a stab at ‘Poetic Justice’ considering her long-professed love for Universal Soul. Poetic Justice isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Exciting stuff.
Innocence is a perfect song and it grows on you. True Believer is a bit of a show-tune. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Lillian Axe. As always, Lillian Axe’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Living In The Grey is a medium tempo tune. This is probably my favorite song on the album. Dyin’ To Live the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. I believe Mercy is one of the most amazing, heartfelt songs ever written. One listen to the sheer beauty of The Promised Land was all I needed. No Matter What is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. She’s My Salvation has a fun tempo. After about the third A Moment Of Reflection listen through, I began to believe this song is Lillian Axe’s essence.
