Stanley Donwood has compared writing for Tempest’s new album to that on ‘Turn Of The Wheel’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Lead single “The Barrow Man” and “Dunmore Lassies” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Tempest’s debut, ‘Turn Of The Wheel’, does not fit easily into one genre. This album is a scorcher!
This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. The Soul Cages is one of the best records ever. Some of the arrangements found on Turn Of The Wheel are surprisingly edgy. A unique and uplifting song. Winding Road makes a person feel perfect. Bonden Og Kraka (The Farmer And The Crow) is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Turn Of The Wheel. After few listenings I started to like For Three Of Us more and more. Nine Points Of Roguery one is one of the better boring ones. Cat In The Corner gets you up and jumping.
