On Eastside Drama album, Brownside have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. It has been thirteen years Brownside’ last studio CD, “Eastside Drama” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Since Brownside last CD (Eastside Drama) on SixSteps records back in 1997, I have felt a massive void in my life. Such great and happy songs.
Album opener Another Crazy Day is a bright, upbeat ditty. KBRN to me is the best you can get from Brownside. Once So Ruff gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. The opening track Danger R.I.P. is very much like you would expect from other albums. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Strong, powerful vocals of Brownside in Gangsters Point of View are very impressive. No Brownside song has come close to capturing my attention as Last Day did. I love the melodic melody of Can’t Stop the Southland and to this day it makes me feel good. I like the idea behind Look Through My Eyes. Hookin’ Up With Eazy E (1:02) - awsome. Vatos ‘N the Varrio make listening to Brownside like being in some sort of time warp. Creepin’ is a very catchy tune. People vs. Toker - I like this one. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Such hits like I Never Thought will leave you hooked. What sets Rest in Peace apart is Brownside’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres.
