On Why Do They Call Me Mr. Happy album, NoMeansNo have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. IF YOU LIKE ALL NoMeansNo’S SONG GO FOR IT! It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of NoMeansNo energies, virtually a rebirth. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
River is almost impossible to review. Machine is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Madness And Death is one of the coolest songs NoMeansNo has ever recorded. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Happy Bridge. NoMeansNo is one of artists that allow his songs like Kill Everyone Now to stand on their own and be heard. Lyrics of I Need You are precise and evocative. Slowly Melting is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. Lullaby catches attention immediately, This song may be the most meaningful.
