This is one of the best Cd’s Shakatak has dropped to date. While no new Shakatak album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1989 tour in Asia. I am not a real Jazz: Funk music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Niteflite’ really is amazing. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Niteflite.
Some call Runaway Bay from Niteflite as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Shakatak sings Quiet Storm in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Jazz Creepin has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. If you are a Shakatak fan, you will love Madinina. I can’t stop humming along Open Your Eyes. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Danceland. Sunshiny Day - A nice song. I like the idea behind Blue Note. Midnight Walkin one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Shakatak sings his heart out in Prelude. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Nocturne. In Deadline Shakatak is at his best. Twilight Time is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Shakatak released so far.
