This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by The Pogues. Now signed to The Pogues’s Mute Records, the title track from second album “If I Should Fall From Grace Wi” leads The Pogues’s back-to-school campaign. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of The Pogues energies, virtually a rebirth. Overall, I would highly recommend If I Should Fall From Grace Wi CD.
When I listen to Turkish Song Of The Damned in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Bottle of Smoke is The Pogues’s best work in years. Fairytale of New York is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Metropolis - To me, this is the best song on the If I Should Fall From Grace Wi. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Thousands are Sailing. South Australia is simply amazing. Once you hear Fiesta, you will listen to it over and over. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Streets of Sorrow - Birmingham has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Lullaby of London great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Don’t judge The Battle March Medley on the first listening. The Pogues sings his heart out in Sit Down By The Fire. Album opener The Broad Majestic Shannon is a bright, upbeat ditty. Worms is a exquisite sing-along.
