This album has some very good songs like Metropolis and Streams Of Whiskey. This -song debut EP shows the promise that The Pogues has. After debuting at No. 1 last week, The Pogues’s album Sink That Bottle falls to No. 2 with 214,000, a sales slide of 51%. Sink That Bottle is not something you should pass up.
Streams Of Whiskey is the most memorable and perfect. Get Sink That Bottle and turn on Boys From The Country Hell if you are going to sip your wine late at night. The opening track Boat Train is very much like you would expect from other albums. Cotton Fields make listening to The Pogues like being in some sort of time warp. In Young Ned Of The Hill it becomes nowhere more obvious that The Pogues has yet to define own style. Johnny - I just love it. USA - Check out that bassline! In Gridlock the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Lorelei is absolutely incredible. The Pogues rocks harder than ever with Streets Of Sorrow - Birmingham Six. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. Album opener Thousands Are Sailing is a bright, upbeat ditty. If you are a The Pogues fan, you will love Gartloney Rats. Bottle Of Smoke is a excellent song and it grows on you. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. A Rainy Night In Soho one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Fiesta stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty.
