four years ago, Aphrodite’s Child briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “The Other People”. There is no doubt that Aphrodite’s Child has talent. Self-described as Electronic with lots of words, Aphrodite’s Child comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
Get The Complete Collection (CD1) and turn on The Other People if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Rain and Tears without a doubt is the standout song of The Complete Collection (CD1). Aphrodite’s Child must have run out of lyrics on the next track Don’t Try to Catch a River. End of the World have really caught my ear and imagination. Song You Always Stand in My Way is actually a funny song. Nice and different song. I like the idea behind The Grass Is No Green. Valley of Sadness is the song that really did it for me. The Shepherd and the Moon gives taste of what makes Aphrodite’s Child special as a musician. Day of the Fool is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Quando L’Amore Diventa Poesia is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Lontano Dagli Occhi pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. I Want to Live is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. I find myself hearing bits of Marie Jolie here and there throughout my waking hours. It’s Five O’Clock is nothing but pure genius. So much energy, so exciting a sound.Take Your Time gets you up and jumping.
