This is the first studio album from Death In June since bad diagnosis in 1991. Death In June had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. The Cathedral Of Tears isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. This album is a scorcher!
Burn Again - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Death Of A Man is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Rule Again (Instrumental) catches attention immediately, I have all of Death In June’s tracks and Touch Defiles is probably the most his introspective effort. Hidden Among The Leaves was the first single release from the album The Cathedral Of Tears. Voice of Death In June in Red Dog - Black Dog is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Blood Victory (Instrumental) - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Brown Book gives taste of what makes Death In June special as a musician. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Cathedral Of Tears. Blood Victory is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses.
