‘Brown Book’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Brown Book carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. This twelve-song debut EP shows the promise that Death In June has. Exciting stuff.
Touch Defiles is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Hail! The White Grain - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Music in Runes and Men is marvelous as in all tracks of Brown Book. To Drown A Rose has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Red Dog - Black Dog - For me, this is the best of the album. In The Fog Of The World is absolutely incredible. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Punishment Initiation is the song that really did it for me. Brown Book is astounding. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music.
