The Guilty Have No Past isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. There is no doubt that Death In June has talent. Lead single “State Laughter” and “Heaven Street (Mk II)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. To me Death In June is the best band ever.
This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Death In June. All Alone In Her Nirvana - For me, this is the best of the album. Nation is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. In The Night Time - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. We Drive East is possibly the best song Death In June has come up. Holy Water - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Heaven Street still maintains something of a specific flourish. Music in The Guilty Have No Pride is amazing as in all tracks of The Guilty Have No Past. Till The Living Flesh Is Burned is astounding. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in The Guilty Have No Past. I listened to the opening track Black Radio and liked it a lot.
