On Cold Lake album, Celtic Frost have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Celtic Frost had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. This album has some very good songs like Human (Intro) and Seduce Me Tonight. It is very deep stuff - very exciting
Seduce Me Tonight is beautiful, yet underrated track. Petty Obsession great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.(Once) They Were Eagles - A classic Celtic Frost track. Cherry Orchards is pretty funky and mellow. Juices Like Wine is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Some call Little Velvet from Cold Lake as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. In Downtown Hanoi it becomes nowhere more obvious that Celtic Frost has yet to define own style. Dance Sleazy is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Roses Without Thorns is simple, dignified and effective, Celtic Frost refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Tease Me - To me, this is the best song on the Cold Lake. Mexican Radio (New Version) is just simply stunning.
