Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Roy Buchanan on ‘Peter Gunn’. Lead single “Peter Gunn” and “The Chokin Kind” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. There is no doubt that Roy Buchanan has talent. Enjoy the show.
This track is a great song that still never gets old. First time I heard Jungle Gym was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.What sets Drowning On Dry Land apart is Roy Buchanan’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Roy Buchanan. You Can’t Judge A Book By The Cover is a very catchy tune. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. I like the idea behind Beer Drinking Woman. You have to get essence of the Whiplash’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Baby Baby Baby is probably the highlight of the album. Mathew is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Roy Buchanan released so far.
