‘Memoriam Draconis’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. There is so much to love about Avatar, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Avatar on ‘Memoriam Draconis - Intro’. Avatar is one of my favourite bands of all time.
Mists Of Evil (To Elysian) is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. A Most Excellent Charm In Solemn Endurance - To me, this is the best song on the Memoriam Draconis. The Eternal Nothingness is pretty funky and mellow. Seduced By Necromancy is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Emperors Of The Night is a excellent sing-along. Sands Of Sheol very upbeat. Hymn To The Ancient Ones is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Star Castle gives taste of what makes Avatar special as a musician. The Mines Of Moria - Outro gets you up and jumping.
