Now signed to Puya’s Sparrow Records, the title track from second album “Fundamental” leads Puya’s back-to-school campaign. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Puya energies, virtually a rebirth. Since Puya last CD (Fundamental) on Sparrow Records back in 1999, I have felt a massive void in my life. This album is in perfect progression from Puya!
Puya sings Fake in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Fundamental to me is the best you can get from Puya. Montate is the song that really did it for me. Whatever is excellent work of Puya. Retro is probably one of Puya’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Keep It Simple is the funkiest number on the album. Sal Pa’ Fuera is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Puya ever produced. Remora is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Trinidad is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Solo is one of these floating songs. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot.
