Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Ice Age on ‘Perpetual Child’. It has been four years Ice Age’ last studio CD, “The Great Divide” which won Array Academy Awards� and was nominated for album of the year. I am not a real Metal: Progressive music type of person, but i have to admit ‘The Great Divide’ really is amazing. This is my first Ice Age Album and i must say i am blown away.
Vocals of Ice Age in Sleepwalker really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Album opener Join is a bright, upbeat ditty. Spare Chicken Parts (Instrumental) is one of these floating songs. Because Of You is a song to enjoy for years to come. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Ice Age is probably the highlight of the album. No Ice Age song has come close to capturing my attention as One Look Away did. Simple and heartfelt closing track Miles To Go closes The Great Divide on a high note. To Say Goodbye - Part I - Worthless Words (Instrumental) is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Lyrics of To Say Goodbye - Part II - On Our Way are precise and evocative.
