It’s natural for Screaming Trees to take a stab at ‘Transfiguration’ considering her long-professed love for KLF. This album has some very good songs like Transfiguration and Straight out to any place. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Screaming Trees on ‘Transfiguration’. IT makes me wanna dance!
Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. World painted is the more seemingly obscure song on Even If and Especially When that bear up best to repeated listening. Don’t look down is almost impossible to review. Girl behind the mask is a strong cut, one of many. I like the agression and power of Flying. Cold rain is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Other days and different planets is the albums biggest surprise. Pathway is a perfect, simple song by Screaming Trees at the top of his game. Album opener You know where it’s at is a bright, upbeat ditty. This track is clearly meant to showcase Screaming Trees’s vocal abilities. Music in In the forest is exquisite as in all tracks of Even If and Especially When.
