For older fans Fear No Evil will put a massive smile accross your face. This thirteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Slaughter has. Lead single “Live Like There’s No Tomorrow” and “Get Used To It” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Fear No Evil.
Get Used To It is another strong production from Slaughter. Searchin’ is a good listen every once in a while. It’ll Be Alright - A classic Slaughter track. Let The Good Times Roll is probably one of Slaughter’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Still going through Fear No Evil and coming to appreciate Breakdown ‘N’ Cry more and more with every listen. Hard Times - To me, this is the best song on the Fear No Evil. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Slaughter. Yesterday’s Gone still maintains something of a specific flourish. After about the third Prelude listen through, I began to believe this song is Slaughter’s essence. One listen to the sheer beauty of Outta My Head was all I needed. I now have Unknown Destination as one of my personal favorites.
