This is the first studio album from Living Colour since bad diagnosis in 1990. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Living Colour on ‘Time’s Up’. This is one of the best Cd’s Living Colour has dropped to date. One of Living Colour’s best albums yet.
History Lesson is outstanding work of Living Colour. Pride is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Living Colour released so far. Love Rears Its Ugly Head has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Living Colour’s strong vocals come to the fore. All of songs on Time’s Up and have something to say letting alone New Jack Theme. Someone Like You is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Time’s Up have ended. Elvis Is Dead gets you up and jumping. In Type you won’t find any flashy solos. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Living Colour emotions are reflected through Under Cover Of Darkness. Nice and different song. This track is full of harmonies and gets Time’s Up off to a relaxing start. Tag Team Partners motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. The song feels complete. This Is The Life is nothing short of a modern masterpiece.
