After seeing Orwitzel, I had to have a good Corvus Corax cd. Since completing 1999’s ‘Orwitzel’, Corvus Corax fulfilled their contract with Capitol Records and where under no obligation to release another album. On the Slovenia charts, superstar Corvus Corax’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Corvus Corax “Tempi Antiquii (1988-91) (Best Of, Compilation)” is an amazing album.
It took me a little time but I ended up loving Ougenweyde. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. There is excellent mix of music in Engelsstampf. Rabenballade is the albums biggest surprise. Spielmannstanz - another great track from the Tempi Antiquii (1988-91) (Best Of, Compilation) album. Fur Minne to me is the best you can get from Corvus Corax. Albanisches is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. Totentanz is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. This song stands out greatly from the others. Trotto - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Corvus Corax.
