On The Battle Of Hastings album, Caravan have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This is one of the best Cd’s Caravan has dropped to date. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Caravan on ‘It’s A Sad, Sad, Affair’. One of Caravan’s best albums yet.
It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Caravan rocks harder than ever with Cold As Ice. Liar one of the best in my collection. Voice and instruments in Don’t Want Love complement each other. Travelling Ways good vocals. It’s a great pleasure to listen to This Time from the beginning to the end. If It Wasn’t For Your Ego (3:36) - awsome. It’s Not Real - A catchy, upbeat tune. The Battle Of Hastings couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Wendy Wants Another 6” Mole. I Know Why You’re Laughing is the albums biggest surprise.
