The Animals was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from The Animals and Ark together. This is the first studio album from The Animals since bad diagnosis in 1983. While no new The Animals album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1983 tour in North America. One of The Animals’s best albums yet.
This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Ark. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Prisoner Of The Light without a doubt is the standout song of Ark. The sound of Being There is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Hard Times is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Trying To Get You marked the continuation of The Animals in style evolution. Just Can T Enough is outstanding work of The Animals. Melt Dow is a striking and quite long song. Gotta Get Back To You is a perfect, simple song by The Animals at the top of his game. From the moment you listen to Crystal Nights you’re hooked. No John No is one of the more up-tempo songs on Ark.
