After debuting at No. 1 last week, Shostakovich’s album Preludes and Fugues for Piano falls to No. 2 with 373,000, a sales slide of 71%. Self-described as Classical with lots of words, Shostakovich comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Shostakovich on ‘No 1 in C major’. Check it every song is worth the money for the Preludes and Fugues for Piano CD!
So much energy, so exciting a sound.No 3 in G major is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Shostakovich ever produced. No 4 in E minor - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. No 7 in A major is a striking and quite long song. No 8 im F sharp minor without a doubt is the standout song of Preludes and Fugues for Piano. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: No 10 in C sharp minor, which shows, blatantly, how much Shostakovich has evolved as a singer. No 11 in B major was the first single release from the album Preludes and Fugues for Piano. I came to like No 12 in G sharp minor. Shostakovich emotions are reflected through No 13 in F sharp major. When listening to No 14 in E flat minor, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. No 15 in D flat major is possibly the best song Shostakovich has come up. No 16 in B flat minor good vocals. No 17 in A flat major is simply cool. You can find feelings on this piece of art. I can’t stop humming along No 19 in E flat major. I like the idea behind No 20 in C minor. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. No 22 in G minor very upbeat. No 23 in F major is cool and different song. Shostakovich has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving.
